A Thank You to Two Special Donors

We are always humbled to receive donations in memory of recently departed loved ones - be they a friend, partner, relative, or pet. There are few experiences in life as painful as saying goodbye to someone, so that our supporters choose to contribute towards our work during a time of such grief and loss is not a gesture that we take lightly.

We have received two donations of this kind in recent months, both of a very generous amount. The first was made by a wonderful couple who wished to honour the memory of their late, cat-loving aunt and uncle by making a lasting contribution to the charity and its work. Their donation was therefore earmarked to cover a significant proportion of the costs involved in creating a second Catcuddles rehoming hub, including eight cat specialised suites, which will be attached to our North London Cat Clinic.

This new hub will significantly increase the number of cats that we are able to care for and find new, loving homes for at one time, and over the years it will provide a safe haven for countless unwanted, unloved, stray, and abandoned cats. We can conceive of no better legacy for a true cat-lover than this, and a plaque will be erected at the Hub acknowledging both the contribution and the wonderful, cat-loving individuals that inspired this act of kindness.

The second memorial donation we have received recently was also extremely substantial and generous, and is particularly close to the hearts of the Catcuddles' Team since it is in honour of a former Catcuddles' cat.

Scout was adopted in 2013, and later emigrated with her adopters to America. There she remained a beloved member of the family until she sadly succumbed to cancer earlier this year. For us, knowing that a former Catcuddles cat led a happy and contented life is already a gift. Nonetheless, Scout's adopters have chosen to use her name to help other cats who have yet to find a place of love, safety and stability.

After several discussions with the family about the areas of greatest need at Catcuddles, it was decided that their contribution would be used to develop and furnish a second operating theatre and recovery suite at our Cat Clinic. It can't be overstated how valuable this is for Catcuddles; funding such a huge project would have posed a considerable challenge for the charity, but it will now be made a reality through just a single, big-hearted contribution. This donation will also have an ongoing impact - countless cats will be helped, and for many, many years to come. Again, a plaque will be erected in the theatre in acknowledgement of this wonderfully charitable act.

Thank you to both donors for their choice to honour their loved ones through such incredibly generous donations. If you'd like to make a donation in memory of someone who has recently passed, please get in touch via our website. You can also contact us if you'd like to contribute towards a specific project or goal, such as a much-needed piece of equipment for our veterinary clinic or renovations for one of our two rehoming hubs. If you want to make a permanent, far-reaching impact on the charity and therefore on the many cats that we help, we're open to discussions on the best way you might do that.
