Jerry & His New Adopted Brother, Frittata, are looking for a new home

Aren't Jerry and Frittata just so sweet?

Frittata is a 3.5 month old kitten who has had a rough time so far. Born to a stray mother, he had no direct contact with humans in his first weeks of life.

Missing out on human interaction at such a pivotal stage in his socialisation has left him very timid and unsure of himself around people. Although he does accept strokes and fuss from our volunteers, learning to trust humans is a gradual process and he is still quite withdrawn, not rambunctious and playful like a kitten should be.

This all changes the moment he sees his new big brother Jerry, however. His demeanour is instantly transformed, and Frittata runs over to greet the older cat with his tail confidently raised in the air. The two groom one another, wrestle, and curl up together to nap. Frittata doesn't stop purring for a second.

In a confusing world full of humans who he doesn't quite understand yet, Jerry is a great source of comfort to Fritatta. He is also a role model, teaching the younger cat that our volunteers are safe to be around. Fritatta is much more confident and open to strokes and play when his guardian is close by.

You may recall our recent happy news that after requiring emergency surgery for a fractured pelvis, Jerry has now recovered enough to be ready for adoption. Frittata is the last of his litter to be adopted, so he is also waiting to find a family of his own. There is therefore the potential for these two sweet boys to be adopted together. If such a home can be found, we expect them to remain fast friends for life.

Frittata will of course require adopters willing to provide him with lots of one-on-one attention, to help draw him out of his shell. Jerry's ongoing recovery will also require monitoring, as he still needs to build up muscle mass in his hind leg. They will need a home with access to a garden via a cat flap, in a relatively safe location.

But these boys are definitely worth it, and they are long overdue a bit of good luck in their young lives. They've found each other - now they just need to find a family to welcome them into their home.
